So after work I sped over to my nearest Sephora store to try this foundation out. The darkest shade was “Cocoa” which actually looked like a match if not slightly darker. The “Cocoa” shade is supposed to be similar to the Cocoa range in the Genius Gel Foundation line. After the sales associate applied it to one side of my face I loved the coverage, the finish was matte and silky. However, the shade seemed just a tad bit off. Tried taking a flash photo and my phone did not work with me. (bad sign) Without any hesitation I knew this foundation was for me. Purchased and ran home to try it out again.
Get home. Opened box and excited. Still loving the feel of this foundation on my skin. It looks off. Reach for phone which is NOW cooperating with me. Take flash photo and …. GHOST FACE. Nooooo! So disappointed. Why?! This foundation has the potential to be a popular favorite among all makeup enthusiasts and it won’t happen anytime soon because the shades are very limited.
If you’re of a lighter hue and are in need of a full coverage satin finish, this will be a great foundation to grab. Too bad my review can only go so far because I would have coughed up the $55 easily. That’s just how great the formula for this foundation. But beware of the misleading name, it’s texture is not at all in mousse form. It’s solid. It applies to the skin as if it were a mousse though.
I had to return it unfortunately and I picked up another full coverage foundation , no not Kat Von D, I will give a review soon. Be sure to check out my Youtube channel to see what foundation it is!
