Delicious Challah French Toast Recipe

August 22, 2015

The time is NOW to stop using that boring played out French Toast Recipe. Step up your French Toast game, why don’t ya?!

Ahhh, it feels good to be back sharing recipes again. Wouldn’t you agree? Here’s a quick a simple recipe I’ve been playing around with for the past few weeks. If you’re following me on Periscope (@skinnygotcurves), you saw me do a cooking scope sharing this recipe. As promised, here are the recipe details. I originally found it on the Food Networks blog, but had to change the recipe to fit my palate. Enjoy this Delicious Challah French Toast Recipe. Be sure to thank me later and tag me in a picture of you making this plate.

Ingredients

1/2 Loaf of Challah Bread
6 Eggs
1 Cup of Half and Half
1/2 Cup of Heavy Cream
1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
1/2 Teaspoon of Molasses
2-3 Tablespoons of Coconut Oil
2 pieces of Butter
1 pinch of Salt

Directions

Slice the Challah Bread into thick slices.

In a large bowl, add salt and the 6 eggs and whisk. Add the Half and Half and Heavy Cream into the bowl with the eggs and whisk. Add the Vanilla Extract and Molasses and whisk.

When mixture is completely mixed add a slice of bread to soak. Allow each bread slice to soak for 1 minute on each side.

While the bread soaks, take a large pan and add coconut oil and butter to coat pan. Heat pan on medium heat. Once the pan is hot, add a piece of bread to the pan. Add another piece or two of bread to the mix to soak. Cook the remaining slices and add more coconut oil if pan gets dry.

To Serve: Add butter, Date Syrup, and fruit to top.

Diet Alternatives:
If your trying to lose weight or do not eat diary, use Almond Milk instead and Egg Substitute.
