I’m officially over tapered haircuts on natural hair! Let me back up and say, I’m over it on ME. Now that my tapered hair divas are no longer offended, let me proceed. I got my first natural hair cut back in 2013, and the stylist gave me the tapered cut. If you missed out on it, check out my YouTube video of it here. I was initially not too thrilled about the style,
So if you haven’t noticed, my fitness journey is slowing turning into something different. Initially I was focused on only gaining weight but I’m realizing how nutrition and mental health were missing components in my fitness journey. I’m fixing that now! What’s the point in reaching my fitness goal with an unhealthy body and unstable mind?!
Last week, I had the pleasure of making a (last minute) trip to Memphis, TN. It was seriously last minute but so well worth the stress. If you already follow me on Snapchat (skinnygotcurves), you witnessed my entire trip with me. I shared some of my experience on Periscope (skinnygotcurves) too. My family wanted to visit the National Civil Rights Museum along with other sights in Memphis. I was interested in seeing the museum along with getting a taste of Memphis food.
This year has definitely been a year of protective styles. I started out with box braids back to back right after I experimented with flat ironed hair. The past couple of years I have really taken my natural hair journey to another level that’s actually exciting. I had to move beyond the same old twist outs and protective buns; the same old same old can get BORING.
This Fall Season,
Guess who’s late? Me!
This post is dedicated to the ones who are thinking about going to the gym, are annoyed with the gym, or just want to see what I have to say about the gym. Welcome all! Last night, I shared on Periscope ways to make the gym suck less because let me tell you, the gym suck sometimes. Being the solution oriented person I am, this post gave me a chance to vent and create solutions all at once.
If you’re like me, and barely have time for anything especially fitness then these muffins should help you with meal planning. I truly believe the way to succeed at your fitness journey is planning ahead. Trust me, oh and here’s the proof in this link. I still struggle with consistency, but the best way to combat inconsistent behavior is planning and making things easy on myself.
Since the beginning on 2015,
The time is NOW to stop using that boring played out French Toast Recipe. Step up your French Toast game, why don’t ya?!
Ahhh, it feels good to be back sharing recipes again. Wouldn’t you agree? Here’s a quick a simple recipe I’ve been playing around with for the past few weeks. If you’re following me on Periscope (@skinnygotcurves), you saw me do a cooking scope sharing this recipe.

If you’re on the app Periscope (@skinnygotcurves) and follow my profile, you probably caught my impromptu cooking broadcast. I figured I would share a recipe I’m loving right now at the moment. I also shared this recipe on my Snapchat (@skinnygotcurves) a while ago. These are the reasons I tell you to follow my profiles. I share different things on all of them.
Be sure you follow my social media!

By now, I’m hoping that you have read my series on my hair braiding debacle. You can check my post here and here. As promised, I did come up with solutions to avoid the experience I had with braiding shops. Y’all know I can’t complain and NOT give solutions, not my style. Looking back on this list, I feel like I may have left off a few more tips.
