I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Ayanna, of this new black owned business located on U Street, Primp Beauty Bar. The business is a beauty supply store that carries high end and low end hair products. There will be a wide variety of makeup, hair salon and fully functioning bar coming soon. I highlight that it’s a black owned business because there aren’t many beauty supply stores owned by African Americans, ironically. She was so pleasant and informed me about the upcoming Shea Moisture event.
Looking around, this “Beauty Bar” is very chic and is like a toy store for a reformed product junkie like myself. I’ve already created a list of items I need to get from this store. The owner showed me this pricey keratin blow dry serum that gave her natural 4c hair a bone straight appearance. MUST HAVE!
Shea Moisture Event
The event was very nice and the wine was definitely flowing. The Shea Moisture representative, Diane Bailey, did a great job in giving advice on the Shea Moisture products. We also had the pleasure of playing fun games which I won a fabulous Shea Moisture Body product. I had fun!
I truly hope that more people get a taste of this wonderful establishment because I already see myself making frequent visits. This place will be my go to hangout spot when the bar is in full swing. Oh and I can’t wait for the dedicated makeup artists and hair stylists to make their entrance to this beauty haven. Be sure you stop by if you’re ever in the Washington, D.C. area. The address is 1515 U Street NW, WDC 20009. Let the folks there know “Skinny Got Curves” sent you.
