Spring is here and Summer is a month away. If you’re an oily girl(or boy), then you know it’s time to gather your products to add to your skincare toolbox. I made sure to provide a list of primers that work for any budget. Here are the primers that are best for a matte face.

1. BECCA Ever Matte Poreless Priming Perfector – This has been a favorite for a few years. I hate the price tag of this product but it’s worth every penny. The good thing about using this product is that a little goes a LONG way. I usually reserve this product for summer months. This is the top tier of matte primers. If you have oily/combo skin, be sure to use only in the oily areas or else you will have dry patches in the dry areas. It costs $36 and can be purchased at Ulta, Sephora, Amazon, and other retailers that sale BECCA Cosmetics. If you have points to cash out with Ulta and a 20% off coupon, that will help reduce the cost.

2. Rimmel Stay Matte Primer – This product is cheap and is high quality for a matte look. I use this product year round. It works well in any weather and for the oily skin. It’s not tricky to use like the BECCA primer which is a plus. This product isn’t too focused on blurring pores but I never have a problem with pores. I also sometimes wear this product alone. The cost is around $6 – $7 and can be found at most drugstores and retail shops that sell Rimmel.

3. Boots Beautifully Matte Make Up Base – Here is another affordable product. This is like the cheaper version of the BECCA primer. The reason why I say that is because it can be tricky using it. If you apply too much it will leave white residue. Using a wet sponge or wet fingers make it easier to apply. You can find this product at Ulta, Target and online usually around $12 – $13.

4. Smashbox Photo Matte Anti-Shine Primer – Although I purchased this product at the end of 2014, looking online it looks like they stopped making this product. What a shame! If you’re lucky, you can still find it at an Ulta store (in store not online). To be honest, this is an okay primer but not as good as the others. So you’re not missing out on an amazing product but it did get the job done. My only gripe is that because it was more than $20, I expected a little more for the price. I would say check around Ulta to see if they place remaining products in the clearance section. You might be able to score big!
This was a pretty short list but I’m really picky when it comes to primers during the warmer months. If you have some oily girl favorites for face primers, share them below in the comment section. I’ll share some other oily girl favorites with you next time!
